September 2003 saw the largest monthly sales of petroleum and natural gas rights in the province’s history, matching the record previously set for an entire fiscal year. The sector is booming, with summer drilling up 126% over last year.
Much of the credit for the boost in activity taking place in northern BC has been attributed to the provincial government’s tax, regulatory and land use reforms.
