Having successfully ramped up its British Columbia Product Design Centre to 300
in 2002/03, Nokia (the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer) has
chosen Vancouver for its new N-Gage gaming division head office. Nokia’s
move enhances Greater Vancouver’s electronic gaming cluster. The company
is tapping a large talent pool in gaming and wireless technologies, and Vancouver
ideally situates them relative to Nokia satellite offices in Tokyo and Helsinki,
as well as game publishers along the US west coast.
